NZ GRAPPLER Capital Challenge > Wellington

The NZ Grappler Capital Challenge brings Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition back to Wellington on Saturday 19 September 2026.

As part of the nationwide NZ Grappler tournament circuit, the Capital Challenge gives athletes from Wellington and across Aotearoa the opportunity to compete in a professional, structured and whānau-friendly environment. Divisions cater for children, juveniles, adults and masters across appropriate belt and weight categories.

NZ Grappler uses Smoothcomp for registrations, brackets and live match scheduling. Competitors should monitor their Smoothcomp account as the event approaches and confirm that their weight, belt, academy and division information is correct.

Adults should arrive two hours before their first scheduled match. Children must be ready for weigh-in and the bullpen within the times advised for the event. Competitors entering a Gi division must make weight while wearing their Gi. Athletes who are overweight on event day will be disqualified in accordance with NZ Grappler safety procedures.
