Do I need a ticket to watch?
Yes. Spectator tickets are available at the door (cash or EFTPOS). Pricing is listed on each event page.

How do I register for a tournament?
Registration is handled through Smoothcomp. Simply create a free Smoothcomp account, choose your event from the NZ Grappler calendar, and complete the online entry form before the registration deadline.
Do I need a team or academy to enter?
No, you can register as an independent competitor if you are not affiliated with a gym. However, most participants represent their academy or team.
What equipment or uniform do I need?
For gi divisions, you’ll need a clean, IBJJF-compliant BJJ gi in good condition. For no-gi divisions, you’ll need a rash guard and shorts with no pockets, zippers, or hard fixtures. Footwear is not allowed on the mats.
